Pain Management vs Pain Relief

Helping Seniors of Brevard — Interview with Nicole Hadjadj, CEO of RestoraLife Regenerative Care

The difference between pain management and pain relief …

For those who are battling chronic pain, it has often seemed like there was no hope. The conventional medical path for treating chronic pain has left many sufferers feeling trapped, as those traditional techniques often are just not enough to relieve those who are suffering. Medications primarily mask symptoms; steroidal injections offer temporary relief at best, and surgery comes with no guarantees except a lengthy recovery period. These efforts fall under the category of Pain Management in which the name says it all. The techniques and are an effort in distracting the body from the root issue and helping the patient manage their pain. These techniques are rarely successful in actually stopping the pain. They are often described as a band-aid to the real problem.

Regenerative Medicine is a new approach with a focus on providing lasting Pain Relief. Regenerative treatments offer patients the ability to experience actual pain relief through minimally invasive procedures with very little or no risk, no medications, and no recovery period. Regenerative treatments focus on the root issue causing the pain and help the body to heal at the source of the pain. Regenerative medicine is about long term healing, not masking symptoms.

The goal of Regenerative Medicine is to stimulate healing at the cellular level. Cell-based treatments promote regeneration wherever damage and degeneration has occurred. Nerves, cartilage, bone, ligaments and more have all been successfully regenerated, restoring function and providing lasting pain relief. Patients with conditions such as arthritis, back, neck, knee, shoulder or hip pain, nerve conditions and even extreme conditions like fibromyalgia and peripheral neuropathy have all found solutions through Regenerative Treatments.

The human body has always been capable of healing itself, unfortunately, as we age and injure or wind up with chronic disease conditions, those healing capabilities are diminished. This leaves the body in a state of disrepair. Regenerative Medicine stimulates the naturally occurring healing processes of the body. Cell-based treatments utilize substances that are naturally found in the body and when used in high concentrations drastically speed up the healing process. Products such as Stem Cell and Platelets are used to help the body regenerate as needed and resume healing and recovery. These biomaterials can be delivered directly to a diseased or injured area providing a means to stimulate the repair process and replenish damaged or dying cells. The healing triggered by these treatments has helped many patients who were told surgery was their only option, not only avoid the surgery, but regain the full function and live with dramatically less pain and often they find themselves pain free.

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy, called PRP, is an orthobiologic solution for treating a large variety chronic pain conditions including ligament, tendon and joint injuries, arthritis and most other areas of chronic pain. Platelets are partial cells that are found in blood that not only help stop bleeding, but also contain growth factors that the body uses to repair damaged tissues. These growth factors play an important role in accelerating the healing of soft tissue injuries. The goal of PRP therapy is to increase the rate of repair and regeneration of tissue by providing a highly concentrated volume of your own platelets that could never happen without the use of this advanced technique.

The area of orthobiologics that is growing that fastest and showing the most promise is the use of stem cells and other similar cell-based treatments that work with stem cells. Stem cells help to maintain the body’s continuous cycle of regeneration, repair and healing. As the body ages, the concentration of stem cells found in the body diminishes. As the stem cell concentration diminishes, it becomes increasingly difficult for the body to recover from injury. Similar to the techniques used in PRP, stem cells and the other cell-based biomaterials can be extracted, concentrated and delivered by a clinician into areas of chronic pain that need help. These building blocks provided at higher concentrations that can occur naturally due to the aging process are capable of advanced reconstruction and revitalization.

The popularity of these treatments is growing quickly as patients now have a minimally invasive option to address the source of the pain, not just manage the symptoms. If you are suffering from chronic pain and are looking for alternatives to pain management efforts, research in your area for a regenerative medicine clinic that offers the ability to treat the source of your pain and overcome your healing obstacles.

Restoralife Regenerative Care is one such clinic serving the Brevard County communities since 2013. They pride themselves at staying at the forefront of the Regenerative Medicine Field and offer weekly Lunch & Learn Seminars to educate people with pain and/or injuries on the exciting new options for lasting pain relief using the latest and most advanced, science-based treatment options.
